Ocular Esthetician

Goal

To assist in patient care, coordination, management, and assistance in specialized treatments for dry eye clinic. Your role does not include personalized skincare treatments and suggestions. Your goal is to oversee all safety and sanitation from an esthetic perspective for patients thinking about and undergoing treatment. You will also assist the doctor on any other procedures or clinic changes that may arise.

Day to Day Tasks

• Set up, sanitation, and consumable maintenance of the treatment area
• Assistance in the movement of machinery and performance of prescribed dry eye treatments
• Detailed charting and uploading of said charts to appropriate systems
• Preparation of patients for treatment physically and mentally. This includes and is not limited to education of pre and post procedure protocols, setting expectations, explanation of post procedure kits and best practices, and physically preparing the patient for treatment
• Advanced dry eye testing and general explanations (not diagnosis) of imaging
• Answering of email and phone correspondence of all questions and enquiries having to do with the clinic
• Initial and continued evaluation of patients' full skincare routines. This includes going through individual products to make sure that it does not contraindicate with dry eye treatments
• Pre procedure text messages and confirmation phone calls, and post procedure check-ins after first initial procedures
• Phone correspondence with potential treatment candidates to answer questions, schedule follow up appointments, or schedule procedures
• Post appointment consultations with explanations in detail of pricing, paperwork, and information on skincare that needs to be discontinued the week before procedures.

Monthly Tasks

• Keep up with patients that have cancelled or no-showed appointments.
• Routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment as needed.
• Continued eduation and research on best practices and information in ocular esthetics.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
