OET Trainer

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver OET preparation training for healthcare professionals (Nursing, Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, etc.)
• Teach and train students across Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking modules
• Provide profession-specific Writing task guidance (referral, discharge, transfer letters)
• Conduct speaking role-play sessions and provide structured, constructive feedback
• Assess student performance through mock tests, assignments, and evaluations
• Identify learner weaknesses and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
• Develop lesson plans, training materials, and practice exercises aligned with OET standards
• Maintain attendance, progress reports, and student records
• Support students with exam strategies, time management, and confidence building
• Stay updated with OET exam formats, marking criteria, and changes
• Ensure a positive, ethical, and supportive learning environment

Required Skills and Competencies

• Strong command of English language (spoken and written)
• Excellent teaching, coaching, and presentation skills
• Ability to explain complex concepts in a simple, structured way
• Strong feedback and evaluation skills
• Empathy and cultural sensitivity when working with international healthcare professionals
• Good classroom management and learner engagement skills
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with online teaching tools

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Linguistics, Education, or a healthcare-related field
• OET certification or proven experience in OET training (preferred)
• 1–3 years of experience teaching OET, IELTS, or healthcare English
• Experience training nurses or healthcare professionals is an advantage

Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with healthcare terminology and clinical communication
• Experience with online/live virtual training platforms
• Ability to train working professionals in flexible schedules
• Certification in TEFL / TESOL / CELTA (preferred but not mandatory)
