Build Your Career with an Award-Winning Team.
We build cool stuff. Want to help us run the show?
At Mercado Design Build Studio, we’re an award-winning team obsessed with great design, hard work, and keeping things real. We’re growing fast and need someone to be the "glue" that holds our studio together. If you’re organized, eager to learn, and bring a joyful, positive vibe to the room, we want to meet you.
Our Culture
Are you cool with EDIB? Because we are.
We believe in treating everyone based on the content of their character, and we expect the same from anyone joining our crew. We’re a team that values integrity, respect, and a "we're all in this together" mentality.
The Role
You will be the backbone of our daily operations, ensuring our projects stay on track. One minute you’re handling the "business of building" (invoices and paperwork), and the next you’re making sure the studio looks sharp.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Support: Manage client invoicing and accounts payable.
- Compliance & Records: Coordinate with subcontractors to verify insurance, tax forms, licenses, and AZ Corp Commission standing.
- Studio Maintenance: Manage document files, coordinate office supplies, and perform light studio upkeep (dusting/sweeping) to keep our space client-ready.
- Future Growth: For the right candidate, this role can expand into managing subcontractor estimates, web development, and high-level studio management.
What You Bring to the Table
- Professional Positivity: You bring a joyful outlook to the office and enjoy helping a team succeed.
- Education/Experience: 2+ years of college completed OR equivalent experience in office management, administrative support, or construction administration.
- Precision: High attention to detail—you’re the type of person who double-checks every email and invoice for correctness.
- Initiative: You aren't afraid to ask questions, learn new software, and take ownership of your tasks.
- Reliability: You are great at following directions and hitting deadlines consistently.
Schedule & Compensation
- Pay: $18 – $25/hour (commensurate with education, experience, and work ethic).
- Hours: Flexible part-time (10–30 hours/week). Our preferred window is M-F, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM, but we are willing to adjust for the right person.
- Future: Potential for this to evolve into a Full-Time position as you master new skills.
Why Join Us?
- Retirement: 401(k) with a 3% employer match (available to part-time staff!).
- Future Perks: Full-time employees are eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, and PTO.
- Impact: Work directly with the leadership of an award-winning boutique firm where your contribution is seen and valued every day.
Our Process:
- 72-Hour Check: If we like what we see, we’ll reach out within 72 hours for a quick phone chat.
