Southern Switch & Contacts — Palm Harbor, FL | Full-time, on-site | $20–$24/hr based on experience

Southern Switch & Contacts is an established precision machining and utility field-services company that has served electric utilities across Florida and the Southeast since 1982. We're looking for an organized, dependable office administrator to run our back-office paperwork and help keep the business side humming.

About the environment — read this part. This is a working machine shop and production environment, not a corporate office. There's no fancy front desk and very few walk-in visitors. The job is back-office: electronic records and filing, accounts-receivable follow-up, and keeping our processes in order. If you're comfortable in a hands-on shop setting and like owning the details, you'll fit well here.

What you'll do

  • Accounts-receivable follow-up — stay on top of aging invoices and contact customers professionally to keep payments on track
  • Credit-card receipt tracking and reconciliation of expenses/documentation
  • Invoice and receipt processing; accurate data entry into QuickBooks Online
  • Electronic filing and records management — keeping digital files organized and retrievable
  • General office administration and email correspondence, supporting the owner and operations lead
  • Occasional scripted customer outreach (a plus, not required) — if you're comfortable with it, light outbound calls to customers using prepared scripts

What we're looking for

  • Strong organization and follow-through — you don't let small things slip through the cracks
  • Basic computer skills (email, file management, general office software)
  • Comfortable learning and working in QuickBooks Online — prior QBO experience is a plus
  • Professional, courteous communication, especially when following up on money owed
  • Dependable, low-drama, and comfortable working in a machine-shop/production setting
  • Reliable transportation to Palm Harbor, FL
