Who We Are

The Pet Cottage is a nonprofit pet sanctuary and lifelong guardianship program located in Jupiter Farms, Florida. We exist to honor the bond between pets and the people who love them. When a pet owner passes away, becomes disabled, or is deployed, we step in giving their pet companion a forever home.

We were founded in 2012 on a promise made to a woman named Joan McCabe, who was living with cancer and needed to know that her cats would be cared for when she could no longer do so. That promise became The Pet Cottage, and it guides everything we do.

The Role

We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Office Assistant to join our small, mission-driven team on a part-time basis. This is a hands-on administrative role — you will help keep our paperwork organized, our records current, and our office running smoothly. You will work directly with our Executive Director.

This is the kind of role that suits someone who takes quiet satisfaction in bringing order to things, follows through, and genuinely cares about doing good work.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and organize administrative paperwork and records
• Maintain accurate files and tracking systems
• Assist with correspondence, data entry, and document preparation
• Support the Executive Director with day-to-day office tasks
• Help ensure our administrative systems stay current and accessible

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in an administrative or office support role
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks
• Comfortable working in a small nonprofit environment
• Comfortable being around dogs and other animals throughout the day
• Proficiency with basic office software (Word, Excel, email)
• AI experience appreciated

Hours: Part-time (hours to be discussed)

Pay: $18.00 per hour
