Office Assistant / Front Desk Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking an organized Office Assistant / Front Desk Assistant to join our team! In this vital role, you will be the welcoming face of Morris Marine, ensuring smooth daily operations and providing exceptional support to technicians and customers.

The ideal candidate must possess exceptional organizational skills and a meticulous eye for detail to effectively manage a wide range of administrative responsibilities, from calendar management to critical data entry. In a fast-paced environment where managing a multi-line phone system and processing customer transactions occur simultaneously, the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently without sacrificing accuracy is paramount. A strong candidate will demonstrate high precision in filing, proofreading, and financial data entry, ensuring that office documentation remains flawless and daily operations run seamlessly.

Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors warmly, answer questions that customers have regarding work that has been/needs to be completed. Cash out customers as they come in to pay for parts, accessories, and services.
  • Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism
  • Manage front desk operations including answering inquiries, scheduling appointments, and providing customer support
  • Maintain organized filing systems and ensure all documents are accurately stored and easily accessible
  • Perform data entry tasks as needed.
  • Assist with bookkeeping using QuickBooks or similar accounting tools to support financial recordkeeping
  • Support office management tasks such as calendar management, appointment scheduling, and supply inventory control
  • Conduct clerical duties including proofreading documents, preparing reports, and managing correspondence
  • Light cleaning duties that include but are not limited to sweeping, mopping, dusting, etc.

Experience

  • Prior office experience or administrative support roles preferred but not required; training provided for the right candidate
  • Strong communication skills, experience with WinBoats is preferred but not necessary
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks or other bookkeeping software is a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service or client-facing roles emphasizing professionalism and courtesy
  • Strong typing skills and data entry accuracy are essential for success in this role
  • Previous accounts payable and accounts receivable experience is preferred but not necessary

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
