Office Assistant - Lead Hostess

Ciao! We are CESARINA, an Italian restaurant in Point Loma. We are looking for an OFFICE ASSISTANT / LEAD HOSTESS to join a driven team and be a part of an incredible family! RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Administrative & Office Support

• Document Management: Create reports and correspondence; maintain organized physical and digital records.
• Financial & HR Assistance: Process invoices for accounting; assist with new hire onboarding and basic hiring paperwork.
• Operations: Manage office supplies/equipment, process mail, and coordinate with departments to ensure policy compliance.
• Data & Research: Compile research and manage spreadsheets to support restaurant operations.

Guest Experience & Reservations

• Lead Hostess Duties: Manage OpenTable reservations and answer phones with a focus on genuine hospitality.
• Guest Feedback: Monitor guest reviews, assign them to profiles, and proactively resolve any guest concerns.
• Reception: Greet all visitors and manage appointments or interviews.

Leadership & Maintenance

• Training: Responsible for the training and development of new team members.
• Podium Upkeep: Ensure the host stand is fully stocked (menus, forms, supplies) and maintain the tidiness of the entry area.

REQUIREMENTS

• 2 years of Hostess or Office Assistant experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency with OpenTable and basic office software (Excel/Word).
• Solid communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to work under pressure and handle guest concerns with grace.
• Physically able to stand for long periods.
• A high school diploma is required.

AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS

Please note that the following availability requirements must be met to apply: FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT - we require a minimum of 5 days availability, of which at least:

• Full Weekend Availability (Saturday or Sunday)
• 3 Full Week Day Availability (Monday to Friday)
• Availability for Holidays and Special Days is mandatory.

PRE-EXISTING COMMITMENTS

• No more than 3 pre-existing commitments are accepted.
• Commitments for more than 10 consecutive days are not accepted.
• Commitments during major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, NYE, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day) are not accepted.

ABOUT CESARINA

Cesarina is a daughter, mother, and grandmother who nurtures her community with her food and hospitality. The concept began when newlyweds Niccolo and Cesarina moved to San Diego and began crafting fresh pasta at local farmers' markets. Together with their friend Giuseppe, the Cesarina family was born. We are a 150+ seat restaurant with an open-air "Pastificio" where we craft all of our pasta and bread in-house. We are proud to have been awarded a BIB GOURMAND from the Michelin Guide in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 and Top 100 restaurants in the US for OpenTable in 2022, 2024, and 2025.
