Reports to the Advocacy & Administrative Support Manager
Disability Rights Washington (DRW) seeks a Part-Time (20 hours per week), Temporary Office Assistant. This position will be based in Washington State and will be done primarily in-person in the DRW office in Seattle.

Job Overview
The Office Assistant (P/T & Temporary) will answer a multi-line phone system and be the first point of contact for people calling DRW. They will provide logistical support to the program teams. Due to the nature of our advocacy, calls can be intense and emotionally taxing. Estimated work week schedule is 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The compensation range for this position is $33.89 – $38.90 per hour depending on experience.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Conflict Resolution
Effectively utilizes conflict resolution and advocacy skills to resolve both internal and external conflicts
Timely Paperwork and Reporting
Submits all required reports, timesheets, and other documentation in an accurate and timely manner
Work Conditions
Being available and able to work in the employee’s assigned office during business hours, with good attendance is an essential job function. Being able to have a set, predictable work schedule within normal business hours. Able to complete 4-hour phone shifts. Travel to Post Office to mail letters and packages.
Workload Monitoring
Maintain a reasonably ambitious workload and keep their immediate supervisor informed when there is insufficient work to perform and when there is a risk that work won’t be completed on a timely basis.

Background Check
DRW conducts background checks of conviction and arrest records on final candidates prior to extending offers. The hiring process will be conducted in compliance with Seattle’s Fair Chance Employment Ordinance, SMC 14.17 and Washington’s Fair Chance Act, RCW 49.94. Applicants will be provided an opportunity to explain and correct background information. A criminal background does not automatically eliminate candidates from consideration.
