Office Assistant/Accounting Clerk

This position is responsible primarily for order processing, order tracking, customer notification, filing, sales tax, and other tasks that will be assigned as necessary. The ideal person will work well on their own with little supervision, must have excellent computer skills – QuickBooks and Excel, Outlook and Word – must be detail oriented and able to work with people at all levels. Although the normal work week consists of 4 ten-hour days. There will be occasions that will require this person to work under stress and within tight time constraints.

Responsibilities

- Process customer orders, follows through on ship dates, informs customer if anything changes, process shipping labels, billing, sales commissions.

· Performs accounts payable work including but not limited to posting invoices, reconciling accounts payable and writing and mailing checks.

· Performs accounts receivable work including but not limited to creating customer invoices and statements, posting invoices and receipts to appropriate accounts, reconciling accounts receivable and follow-up with slow or non-payers.

· Maintains company files as required.

· Takes incoming telephone calls and handles them or directs them to the appropriate person, if needed.

Maintains other records as may be assigned.

· Produces other reports as may be assigned.

· Manage all sales tax via Avatax. Process tax returns via AvaTax and ensures accuracy for over 15 states.

· Process customer sales tax resale certificates.

· Manage weekly customer open order reports for various customers.

· Regular attendance is required. Access to reliable transportation. Major cross streets are Higley/McKellips.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, handle, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
