Office Assistant/Bookkeeper/Leasing Agent

Our office manages multiple businesses and is seeking a motivated Office Assistant / Bookkeeper to provide administrative and financial support. The position begins at 16-24 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours and even full-time employment for the right candidate. Hours are flexible, making this role an excellent fit for someone seeking practical business and accounting experience.

Typical Duties:

  • Manage accounts payable and ensure timely vendor payments
  • Assist with budget forecasting and financial planning
  • Bill invoices and track incoming payments
  • Handle cash box activity and record monthly rents
  • Deposit checks at the bank and maintain accurate records
  • Perform payroll for employees
  • Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and yearly tax filings
  • Complete monthly reconciliations of accounts
  • Prepare financial statements and reports
  • Track and enter sales activity across multiple businesses
  • Submit compliance documentation for EGLE & OSHA
  • Provide general administrative support as needed

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software preferred (not required)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems effectively
  • Honest, reliable, and ambitious personality

Compensation & Schedule:

  • Starting pay: $15 – $20 per hour, based on experience
  • Part-time: 16 hours/week to start, with potential for more hours
  • Flexible scheduling

This position provides hands-on experience in office and financial management and could be ideal for someone seeking an internship-style opportunity or part-time work with room to grow.
