Office Boy - Janitor

Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Janitor / Custodian to join our retail team. In this role, you will be the backbone of our store's appearance, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping environment for our customers and a hygienic workspace for our staff. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes pride in their work and understands that a clean store directly impacts customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Floor Care: Sweep, mop, vacuum, and buff retail floors, entrance areas, and backrooms daily.
• Restroom Sanitation: Clean, disinfect, and restock customer and employee restrooms multiple times throughout the shift.
• Waste Management: Empty all trash bins, replace liners, and safely transport waste to the outdoor dumpsters or compactors.
• High-Touch Surface Disinfecting: Frequently wipe down checkout counters, shopping carts, baskets, door handles, and display glass.
• Stockroom Upkeep: Assist in maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the inventory loading dock and employee breakrooms.
• Spill Response: Promptly and safely clean up accidental liquid or product spills on the sales floor to prevent slip-and-fall accidents.
• Inventory Control: Track cleaning supply levels (soap, paper towels, chemical solutions) and report restocking needs to the Store Manager.
• Facility Reporting: Flag any maintenance issues, leaks, broken fixtures, or safety hazards to management immediately.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience in commercial cleaning, retail janitorial services, or facilities maintenance is preferred but not required (we provide on-the-job training).
• Physical Demands: Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks—including lifting up to [e.g., 30–50 lbs], bending, standing, and walking for the duration of an 8-hour shift. Indeed

• Skillset: Familiarity with the safe handling of chemical cleaners and basic manual cleaning equipment.
• Mindset: A polite, professional demeanor when interacting with shoppers or team members on the sales floor.
