Office Manager

Some people walk into a disorganized environment and immediately see what needs to be fixed. They remember the client's name before they look it up. They build the system and then they run it. They don't wait to be told something matters. They already know. If that's how you operate, we'd like to meet you.

What This Role Is

Lakewood Companies builds custom homes, additions, and large-scale remodels across the Northwoods of Wisconsin. We work with clients who have high expectations, and the experience they have with our company starts the moment they make contact with our office.

The Office Manager is the professional face of Lakewood Companies. You own the front-office environment, the client experience at every touchpoint, and the administrative systems that keep the business running cleanly behind the scenes. You'll manage HR administration, onboarding, vendor compliance, and the documentation and processes that hold the office together.

This is not a support role. It's an ownership role.

What Your Day Actually Looks Like

  • Answering calls and emails with warmth, professionalism, and accuracy
  • Managing client touchpoints including first impressions, follow-ups, gifting, and communication support
  • Owning HR administration: onboarding, employee records, PTO tracking, and I-9 compliance
  • Entering receipts and ensuring accurate, timely documentation in JobTread
  • Maintaining vendor files, insurance certificates, and compliance records
  • Building and maintaining SOPs and checklists that the whole team can rely on
  • Identifying gaps in administrative processes and fixing them without being asked

What You Bring

You don't need a construction background. You need to be someone who takes genuine pride in a well-run office and a well-served client.

You communicate clearly and professionally in every interaction, by phone, email, and in person. You're organized in a way that others notice and benefit from. You build systems that outlast your own involvement in them. You close loops. You follow through. You show up prepared and consistent, every day.

Experience in an office management, administrative, or operations role is expected. You're comfortable learning new software quickly and picking up new systems without hand-holding. Experience with HR administration or bookkeeping is a plus.

What You Get

  • Competitive pay
  • Stable, full-time year-round employment
  • Paid holidays and PTO
  • A professional, respectful team with clear expectations
  • Real room to grow with a company that is actively building something
