Office Manager / Bookkeeper

Part-Time Bookkeeper (QuickBooks Online) – Flexible / Hybrid (Rockford, IL)

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support 3 small-to-medium sized businesses. This is a part-time role (15–30 hours per week) with flexible scheduling and the ability to work primarily from home.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys ownership of the bookkeeping process, is highly organized, and can also assist with occasional administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online
• Record and categorize transactions, reconcile bank/credit card accounts
• Manage accounts payable and receivable
• Prepare monthly financial reports and maintain accurate records
• Handle owner reimbursements and inter-company transactions
• Pick up mail locally and deposit checks (Rockford area required)
• Assist with ad hoc administrative tasks, including:
• Organizing company meetings
• Light marketing / coordination support
• General operational assistance as needed
• Insurance management, including open enrollment and asisting employees with insurance-related questions
• Facilitating employee onboarding and offboarding
• Tracking employee reviews and raises

Qualifications

• 5+ years of bookkeeping experience (small to mid-sized businesses preferred)
• Strong expertise in QuickBooks Online (required)
• Experience managing multiple entities or accounts is a plus
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
• Must be local to the Rockford, IL area for occasional in-person tasks
