Major Function:

Performs assigned duties and responsibilities throughout the various departments of the bank to learn the banking process and operations of each department. Serves as back-up to several departments within the bank. Available to be inserted into roles or positions as needed in event of absence, departure and growth.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop a working knowledge of bank administration, operations, lending, customer service and Trust Department through on-the-job training.
  • Become familiar with bank policies and procedures through reading supervisory, technical, and procedural manuals, reports and publications related to the banking industry. Attend internal and external training sessions.
  • Become familiar with banking regulations and ensure compliance with such regulations.
  • Develop relationships with bank customers and ensure customers’ needs are met.
  • Represent the bank in the community in order to develop and promote additional business for the bank.
  • Support the bank’s strategic plan for achievement of goals and objectives.
  • Work to develop further management and administrative skills.
  • Share ideas and suggestions for departmental process and procedures that will improve efficiencies or enhance processes.
  • Assist other employees/departments/branches to promote teamwork and good communication.
  • Complete special projects assigned by supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related degree, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Foundation in accounting principles as they relate to banking.
  • Strong computer literacy with knowledge of computer software (i.e. Microsoft Windows Operating System and Office applications).
  • Well organized, accurate and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently or in team environment.
  • Strong reading, writing, and basic mathematical skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical decision-making and problem solving skills.

Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently located inside an office building. The employee is also occasionally exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.

Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm with a required Saturday rotation.
