We are seeking an experienced ColdFusion Engineer to support, enhance, and maintain our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Adobe ColdFusion/Lucee, healthcare data workflows, and secure web application development. This is a long-term offshore role working closely with our US-based product and Canadian-based clinical operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance an existing ColdFusion-based EMR system
  • Design, develop, and optimize CFML business logic, APIs, and UI workflows
  • Integrate with third-party healthcare systems (PACS, HL7, FHIR, Labs, Billing, etc.)
  • Work with DICOM, patient data, and clinical documentation workflows
  • Optimize database performance (queries, indexing, stored procedures)
  • Implement HIPAA-compliant security controls (authentication, authorization, audit logs)
  • Build and maintain REST APIs for internal and external integrations
  • Fix production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and apply patches
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment cycles
  • Collaborate with US stakeholders, product managers, and QA teams
  • Maintain technical documentation and support SOPs

Required Technical Skills:

Core Technologies

  • 3+ years of strong hands-on experience with Adobe ColdFusion or Lucee
  • Advanced CFML, CFCs, ORM, custom tags
  • Strong SQL experience with MySQL / SQL Server / PostgreSQL
  • RESTful API development and JSON/XML processing
  • JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 (Bootstrap preferred)

Healthcare / EMR Knowledge Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of EMR / EHR workflows
  • Understanding of HIPAA compliance
  • Experience with HL7 / FHIR / DICOM integrations is a strong plus
  • Patient records, scheduling, charting, billing workflows

DevOps & Tools:

  • Git / Bitbucket / GitHub
  • IIS, Apache, or Nginx
  • CI/CD pipelines (preferred)
  • Linux or Windows server environments

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication
  • Ability to work independently in an offshore environment
  • Strong documentation and analytical skills
  • Comfortable working with US-based clients and compliance teams
  • High attention to data security and patient privacy

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with LEADTOOLS, PACS, or Medical Imaging Systems
  • React / Angular front-end exposure
  • AWS / Azure hosting experience
  • Experience supporting FDA-regulated or clinical applications

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

Engagement Model:

  • Offshore full-time dedicated resource
  • Daily/weekly stand-ups with US product team
  • Long-term maintenance + new feature development
  • On-call support rotation (optional based on contract)

Success Metrics:

  • System uptime and performance improvements
  • Timely delivery of EMR features
  • Secure handling of PHI data
  • Reduced production defects
  • Successful audit and compliance outcomes
