Offshore Crane Operator

Position Summary:

The Offshore Crane Operator shall be responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant

operation of offshore cranes in support of QCON construction, maintenance, and logistics

activities at Ras Laffan offshore facilities. The role shall be executed in full compliance

with QCON, QatarEnergy (QE), and international offshore HSE and lifting standards.

Scope of Work / Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate offshore pedestal and deck cranes for lifting, loading, unloading, and positioning
  • of materials and equipment
  • Perform lifts between offshore installations, platforms, jackets, and supply vessels
  • Execute all lifting operations strictly in accordance with approved lifting plans, method
  • statements, and risk assessments
  • Comply with QCON PTW system, Toolbox Talks (TBT), and QE lifting procedures
  • Carry out daily, pre-use, and routine inspections of cranes and lifting accessories
  • Coordinate with Lifting Supervisors, Riggers, Banksmen, and Deck Crew
  • Monitor load charts, crane capacities, wind speed, weather, and sea conditions
  • Maintain crane logs, lifting records, and inspection checklists
  • Participate in HSE meetings, audits, emergency drills, and safety campaigns
  • Stop work immediately and report any unsafe conditions or incidents

Mandatory Certifications (As per QCON / Ras Laffan / QE Requirements):

  • OPITO Stage 3 Offshore Crane Operator Certificate (or QE-approved equivalent, e.g., API
  • RP 2D)
  • BOSIET / FOET with CA-EBS / HUET
  • Offshore Medical Certificate (OGUK / UKOOA or QE-approved equivalent)
  • H2S Awareness Certificate
  • Certification must clearly indicate offshore crane type and operating capacity

Preferred / Advantageous Certifications:

  • Rigging & Slinging Certificate
  • Banksman / Slinger Certificate
  • Prior QCON or Ras Laffan site approval

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of offshore experience as a Crane Operator
  • Proven experience on offshore platforms, jackets, vessels, or rigs
  • Familiarity with QCON HSE systems and offshore construction practices
  • Prior experience on QatarEnergy / Ras Laffan projects is highly preferred

Rotation Details:

  • 21 Days ON / 21 Days OFF or 28 Days ON / 28 Days OFF (as per project requirement)

Pay: QAR14,000.00 - QAR16,000.00 per month
