Oil & Gas Accountant

Lucknow Story is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Oil & Gas Accountant to join our finance team in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial operations related to oil and gas activities, ensuring accurate cost tracking, maintaining compliance with industry standards, and supporting strategic financial reporting.

This role is ideal for a finance professional with strong technical accounting expertise and experience in the energy sector, capable of working in a high-value, complex operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounting operations related to oil and gas projects and activities
• Track and analyze exploration, production, and operational costs
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements
• Ensure accurate recording of joint venture transactions and cost allocations
• Monitor revenue recognition and cost recovery processes
• Reconcile project accounts and resolve financial discrepancies
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for energy operations
• Maintain compliance with IFRS, industry standards, and company policies
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, and procurement teams on cost control
• Assist in internal and external audits with detailed financial documentation

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in accounting, preferably in oil & gas or energy sector
• Strong understanding of oil and gas accounting principles and project costing
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• High attention to detail and ability to manage complex financial data
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working in multinational or energy companies is an advantage
