As part of our strategic expansion into the energy sector, we are seeking an experienced and visionary Oil & Gas Director to lead and oversee our oil and gas operations, business development initiatives, and strategic partnerships.
Position Summary
The Oil & Gas Director will be responsible for developing and executing the company's oil and gas strategy, managing operational performance, identifying investment opportunities, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and international standards. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in driving growth, profitability, and operational excellence across all energy-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement long-term strategic plans for the company's oil and gas business.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, acquisitions, joint ventures, and partnerships.
- Lead exploration, production, transportation, and trading initiatives where applicable.
- Oversee project development from concept through execution and operational delivery.
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, environmental standards, and HSE requirements.
- Manage budgets, financial forecasting, and operational performance metrics.
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, industry stakeholders, investors, and strategic partners.
- Lead negotiations of major commercial agreements, contracts, and partnerships.
- Monitor industry trends, market developments, and geopolitical factors affecting the energy sector.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing teams across operational and commercial functions.
- Provide regular reports and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Energy Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum 10–15 years of progressive leadership experience within the oil and gas industry.
- Proven track record in upstream, midstream, downstream, or integrated energy operations.
- Strong understanding of international energy markets, project development, and commercial negotiations.
- Experience managing large-scale projects and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent financial, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
