Liquid Eng-SL is seeking a highly skilled Oil & Gas Finance Analyst to join our finance team in Doha. This role will support the financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting activities for our operations in the oil and gas sector. As an integral part of the team, the ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen, experience in the energy sector, and a proven ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial performance within the oil and gas industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide financial analysis, reporting, and insights to drive decision-making within oil and gas operations
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and operational objectives
- Monitor and track operational expenses, including exploration, production, and maintenance costs, identifying cost drivers and areas for optimization
- Prepare and analyze financial models to assess the profitability of projects, capital expenditures (CAPEX), and operating expenses (OPEX)
- Perform variance analysis and offer recommendations to improve cost efficiency and maximize profitability
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, industry-specific financial regulations, and corporate financial policies
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (operations, procurement, project management) to ensure alignment of financial performance with operational outcomes
- Prepare regular financial reports and presentations for senior management, offering actionable insights on key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and support audit processes
- Provide financial forecasting and scenario analysis for long-term planning and project assessments
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Proven experience as a finance analyst within the oil and gas industry or a related energy sector role
- In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, cost accounting, and performance analysis in oil and gas operations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software (ERP experience is a plus)
- Familiarity with financial regulations and accounting standards, particularly IFRS
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills
- Ability to communicate financial information effectively to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cost control, financial modeling, and capital project analysis in the oil and gas sector
- Professional certifications such as CFA, CMA, or CIMA
- Knowledge of oil and gas operational cycles, including upstream and downstream activities
- Strong understanding of the financial dynamics in the energy sector, particularly in terms of market fluctuations and regulatory changes
