Position Overview

Morgan Law, PLLC is seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Title Attorney to join our growing team as a full-time or part-time Of Counsel. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented practitioner with at least one year of experience in oil and gas title examination, preferably in Texas or New Mexico. You will work closely with members of our firm and clients to draft original title opinions, draft and review instruments, and advise clients on curative strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare original, drilling, division order, and acquisition title opinions
• Analyze complex title chains, including fee, leasehold, and royalty interests
• Draft and review conveyancing instruments, including deeds, assignments, and leases
• Advise clients on curative measures and risk mitigation strategies
• Stay current on relevant case law and regulatory developments

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice law, preferably in Texas or New Mexico
• Minimum of 1 year of oil and gas title experience (more preferred)
• Strong understanding of mineral ownership, conveyancing, and oil and gas legal concepts
• Excellent legal writing and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
