On-Call Banquet Bartender/Barback

SUMMARY: Responsible for supporting banquet and event operations through the setup, service, and breakdown of banquet functions in accordance with established service standards. This position provides food and beverage service to Resort Guests in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner while maintaining a high standard of guest service. The role maintains the cleanliness, organization, and stocking of beverage stations and equipment to ensure smooth banquet and bar operations. This position works a flexible schedule based on event demand, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties: (Specific areas of responsibility including, but not limited to)

  • Set up banquet rooms and event spaces according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), including tables, chairs, linens, flatware, glassware, and decorations.

  • Provide professional food and beverage service to Guests during banquet functions and events, ensuring timely, courteous, and engaging service.

  • Take and deliver Guest food and beverage orders while maintaining attentive service and responding promptly to Guest needs or concerns.

  • Assist Guests with menu and beverage selections, demonstrating knowledge of all menu items and beverage offerings.

  • Receive payment for purchases, make changes, process credit card transactions, and operate from an issued cash bank in accordance with company policy when applicable.

  • Assist with buffet and plated service as required, ensuring proper presentation, timing, and adherence to service standards.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas, beverage stations, and service equipment throughout events.

  • Support the setup, breakdown, cleaning, resetting, and storage of banquet and bar supplies and equipment.

  • Assist bartenders by preparing bar areas for service, including refilling ice bins, restocking liquor and supplies, replacing kegs, cutting garnishes, and clearing and washing glassware.

  • Ensure bartenders have the necessary supplies to provide beverage service efficiently during events.

  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures in accordance with company standards and local health regulations.

  • Ensure responsible service of alcohol and comply with all state, federal, and local liquor laws and regulations.

  • Work cooperatively with multiple departments to monitor and control the sale and service of alcoholic beverages in assigned areas.

  • Perform duties from various work locations throughout the casino and food and beverage outlets based on business needs.

  • Demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills while working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and performing multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Support the Food and Beverage Department as needed based on business demands, including working relief shifts in other outlets when required.

  • Maintain adherence to assigned schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and shifts based on event demand.

  • Follow all outlet policies, procedures, and service standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Must possess a high school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.

  • Must complete Food Handler or ServSafe certification and Responsible Alcohol Service certification or provide proof of current certification.

  • Must possess a cooperative and friendly demeanor with strong guest service skills.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English and follow directions.

  • Must have the ability to learn and operate a point-of-sale (POS) system.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Must be dependable, punctual, and available for on-call shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license.

  • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Preferred Requirements:
  • One year experience as a Food Server with experience in banquet service preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift).

  • Must be physically able to perform all job requirements.

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and occasionally more with assistance.

  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching above shoulder level.

  • Ability to balance trays and carry service items safely.

  • Assist with setting up and breaking down tables, chairs, and other event equipment as needed.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and remain attentive to guest needs.

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work in a non-smoke free environment.

  • Exposure to variable temperatures depending on event location (indoor/outdoor).

  • Must be able to work in a noisy environment.

  • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events.
