General Description
The On-Call Custodian/Maintenance person is responsible for providing a clean, and well-maintained facility on an as-needed basis. Duties include routine custodial tasks, minor repairs, event setup and teardown, and responding to facility needs to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for church, school and community activities.
Specific Responsibilities
● Keeping the campus clean and sanitized including-cleaning restrooms, gathering and emptying trash in multiple buildings, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, restocking supplies and sanitizing the entire campus
● Moving desks, tables, chairs, clean windows and utilize a carpet cleaner
● Setting up and breaking down furnishings and equipment for school and church events; including church services, assemblies, meetings, luncheons and sporting events
● Deliver light to heavy items/packages around campus.
● Perform maintenance repairs throughout the campus, including but not limited to, carpentry repairs, painting, electrical and plumbing
● Replace window screens and blinds
● Follow the guidance offered the CPC Human Resources Policies and Procedures Handbook
● Complete all training as required
Qualifications
Minimum 2-3 years of Janitorial work experience
● Handyperson skills for minor repair such as electrical circuits, receptacles, breakers, switches, and fuses light fixtures and carpentry
● Ability to diagnose problems and repairs in the areas related to electrical, plumbing, carpentry, dry wall, exterior structural
● Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
● Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or with a team.
● Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:
● Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry objects up to 51 lbs on a regular basis (e.g., moving furniture, boxes, equipment, and supplies).
● Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift, including long distances across facility grounds.
● Repeated bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching to clean, move, or repair items in tight or low spaces.
● Ability to climb stairs and ladders to access elevated areas for cleaning, maintenance, or landscaping.
● Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling tools, equipment, and cleaning machinery.
● Ability to safely operate custodial, maintenance, and landscaping equipment that may require moderate physical effort.
● Tolerance for working indoors and outdoors in various environmental conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
● Stamina to complete event setup and teardown tasks, which may involve repetitive lifting, moving, pulling, pushing, and arranging chairs, tables, and equipment.
● Capability to perform light landscaping tasks such as trimming bushes, pruning low-hanging branches, and clearing outdoor areas.
● Ability to perform other labor-intensive tasks commonly required on a school campus, such as moving heavy furniture, transporting supplies, and assisting with classroom setups or rearrangements.

Terms of Employment
● On Call-variable hours as needed
● Non-Exempt
● Pay Range: $22.50-$32.20/hour
● Benefits: California Sick Pay

Pay: $24.37 - $29.35 per hour
