On-Camera Body Cam Commentator

We produce commentary content built around real bodycam footage and are looking for a retired or former law enforcement officer to appear on camera and break down these videos from a professional perspective. Videos average ~15 minutes of source footage. This is ongoing freelance work with steady volume for the right person.

What you'll do

Watch each bodycam video and record an on-camera reaction/analysis

Explain what's happening from a police procedure standpoint — tactics, decision-making, use-of-force considerations, protocol, and what a trained officer notices that a civilian might miss

Keep commentary clear, professional, and accessible to a general audience

Deliver raw recorded footage (our team handles all editing)

Requirements

Prior experience as a sworn law enforcement officer (patrol, detective, or similar); retired or former, in good standing

Comfortable and presentable on camera

Own basic recording setup: decent camera/webcam (1080p+), a clip-on or USB mic for clear audio, and good lighting

Reliable and able to turn videos around on an agreed schedule

Able to explain procedure calmly and objectively without editorializing excessively

Bonus: instructor experience (use-of-force, FTO), specialized units (SWAT, K9, traffic), or prior media/on-camera experience

Compensation

$50 per video (raw, on-camera commentary; editing handled by our team)

Consistent, ongoing volume available for a good fit

Rate reviewable after an initial trial batch

To apply

Please send: (1) a brief summary of your law enforcement background and years of service, (2) a short sample clip of you speaking to camera (even a phone selfie video is fine), and (3) your availability/how many videos per week you could handle.

Pay: $50.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule

Work Location: Remote
