On-site groundskeeper

Overview
Live in our wonderful small community as the on-site Groundskeeper, assisting with maintaining the beautiful outdoor spaces that surround multiple dwellings on a beautiful rural three acre property. You’ll take charge of landscape upkeep, ensuring that gardens and surrounding areas look lovely and are well-cared for.

Building maintenance skills are not necessary, but can add to the hours available for employment.

Your labor income will be deducted from the rent value of the unit you occupy. Some units can accommodate a partner, housemate, and/or child. Occupying a smaller unit by yourself could mean you live rent-free in a highly desirable area.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various groundskeeping tasks
• Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues as needed
• Conduct gardening activities such as planting, fertilizing, mulching, and weed control to promote healthy growth.
• Perform routine landscape maintenance including pruning, driveway cleaning, and mowing.
• Assist with general land maintenance tasks including debris removal, fencing repairs, and surface leveling
• Support landscaping projects by preparing soil beds, planting new greenery, and installing features under supervision
• Monitor the health of plants and lawns, identifying pests or diseases early to implement appropriate solutions

Skills

• Proficiency with irrigation systems and ornamental plant maintenance.
• Experience using hand tools (shovels, rakes, pruners) and power tools (trimmers, blowers) safely and efficiently
• Knowledge of horticulture principles to support healthy plant growth and garden design
• Strong attention to detail
• Physical stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions
• proactive attitude toward maintaining outdoor spaces
• Basic understanding of landscaping best practices and land management techniques

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
