Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and passionate On-Site Supervisor. The On-Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the childcare program to ensure a safe, nurturing, and organized environment for children, families, and staff. This position provides leadership and supervision to classroom staff, maintains compliance with licensing regulations, supports positive child development practices, and serves as the primary contact person for direct care staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities,Program Supervision
- Oversee daily childcare operations and classroom activities.
- Ensure proper staff-to-child ratios are maintained at all times.
- Monitor classrooms to ensure safe, clean, and developmentally appropriate environments.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures as assigned.
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, and parent concerns in a professional manner.
Staff Leadership
- Supervise and support teachers, assistants, and support staff.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and direction to employees during daily operations.
- Assist Director with staff scheduling and coverage needs.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback.
- Support staff training and onboarding processes.
Child Safety and Care
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in care.
- Implement and enforce center policies and behavior guidance procedures.
- Address behavioral concerns using positive guidance techniques.
Compliance and Administration
- Maintain compliance with state licensing regulations and center policies.
- Assist with inspections, audits, and licensing visits.
Family Communication
- Build positive relationships with parents and guardians.
- Communicate program information, concerns, and updates effectively.
- Address parent questions and concerns in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Minimum age requirement as required by state childcare licensing regulations.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education required.
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain.
- Knowledge of childcare licensing regulations and child development practices.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Work Schedule
- Full-time based on program needs.
- Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for events or trainings.
