Position: Oncology – Charge Nurse

Job Overview:

The Charge Nurse supports the Head Nurse in managing daily clinical operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based patient care. Key responsibilities include supervising nursing staff, coordinating patient care, maintaining safety and quality standards, and assisting with unit scheduling and emergency management. The role also requires active participation in education, professional development, and quality improvement initiatives.

Key Duties:

• Lead and support nursing staff, ensuring safe and culturally sensitive patient care.

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.

• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies and infection control practices.

• Support unit operations including equipment readiness, staff scheduling, and emergency response.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in audits, KPI tracking, and quality projects.

• Provide patient and family education and assist with staff training.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a valid professional license.

• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a reputable hospital.

• BCLS (ACLS preferred); eligible for SCFHS certification.

• Strong leadership, communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.

• Experience in accreditation, mentoring, and working in diverse cultures is an advantage.
