Are you interested in joining an amazing team of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians to provide exceptional care to patients receiving take-home cancer medications? We are a unique pharmacy that specializes in providing care and services for patients receiving take-home cancer medications and their caregivers. We are looking to expand our team with an Oncology Reimbursement Navigator that is professional, reliable, compassionate, detail-oriented, experienced and ready to learn new things in a specialty pharmacy practice model. This position will involve much patient interaction so the candidate must be able to communicate well with patients, pharmacists and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.

Experience with reimbursement or drug access navigation in a hospital setting is a pre-requisite for this position. The ability to speak at least conversational French is an asset for applicants.

Oncology Reimbursement Navigator general responsibilities and duties:

  • Proficient knowledge in oncology oral medications and their indications.
  • Proficient knowledge in independent completion of prior authorization forms, patient support programs forms, EAP submissions and Trillium applications
  • Expertise in billing strategies including proficiency in Kroll billing, ODB billing and coordination of benefits.
  • Be professional and courteous to patients and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Proficient in interpreting and extrapolating information from patient charts to inform pathways to insurance coverage and medication access.

Qualifications:

  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) is preferred
  • Reliable and dependable, with a strong sense of professionalism and integrity
  • Excellent communication skills with patients, colleagues, and other health care workers
  • Detail-oriented and strong ability to accurately and safely complete assigned tasks.
  • Familiar with the pharmacy law, ethics, conduct related law, privacy and liability issues within pharmacy settings.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working as a Drug Navigator in a hospital setting with a focus on oncology therapy navigation
  • Fluency in languages other than English is considered an asset
