One Saturday a Month Radiology Technician

Join our dedicated healthcare team as a One Saturday a Month Radiology Technician! San Jose Clinic offers a once a month clinic on the first Saturday of the month from 8 am - 12 pm. This vital role offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services on a flexible, once-a-month schedule.

Position Summary:

Performs radiology procedures within the medical practice; cleans and maintains radiographic equipment and supplies and holds certification from the required certifying organization. Follows physicians’ orders precisely and conform to regulations concerning the use of radiation to protect themselves, their patients and co-workers from unnecessary exposure.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILILTIES:

1. Prepares patients for radiologic procedures

2. Follows established procedures for patient care and safety

3. Able to use a variety of radiation protection and shielding material

4. Maintains supplies and equipment in working order

5. Reports equipment malfunctions to the supervisor and Radiation Safety Officer

6. Cleans technical and auxiliary equipment to ensure quality and hygiene for infection control purposes

7. Records images of optimal diagnostic quality by set standards and procedures while operating within the scope of license

8. Performs procedures such as archiving, copying, sending images to the referring physician, and weekly back ups

9. Properly positions patients for testing

10. Logs radiologic procedures and processes routine paperwork

11. Enters patient transcription and data base information

12. Supervises and precept students and volunteers

13. Delivery of medical/pharmacy care in accordance with the Catholic Moral and Ethical Directives

14. Follows all HIPAA and OSHA guidelines and regulations, including assisting HIPAA and OSHA Officers in ensuring compliance

15. Maintains confidentiality of patient information/records at all time

16. Maintains established San José Clinic policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control

17. Implements job responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with the San José Clinic Mission and Code of Conduct and is supportive of San José Clinic cultural diversity objective

18. Performs other duties as assigned

QualificationS, Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of medical office experience
  • Current Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist or Radiologic Technologies certification
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to perform x-ray testing
  • Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology including equipment, body mechanics and patient movement.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent organizational skills, multi-tasking and effective use of time
  • Able to handle and complete multiple tasks or projects with multiple deadlines.
  • Able to deal professionally, courteously and efficiently with public and all levels of the organization
  • Able to operate computer, copier fax, and scanners
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, practice management system software applications, and electronic medical records
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates effective customer relation skills, working with diverse populations, often in stressful fast paced environments
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish required

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
