Online Academic Success Coach for Struggling Students (Grades 6–12)

Be Alright Tutoring is hiring experienced online Academic Success Coaches to support middle and high school students who struggle with organization, motivation, executive functioning, study skills, attention, and academic follow-through.

Many of our students are bright but overwhelmed. Some struggle with ADHD, learning differences, missing assignments, time management, reading comprehension, written expression, or staying organized in a traditional school environment.

We are looking for educators who can build strong relationships with students while helping them develop structure, accountability, confidence, and independent learning habits.

This is not simply a homework-help position. We are looking for coaches who can actively support students in developing long-term academic and executive functioning skills in a virtual environment.

Responsibilities

  • Help students manage assignments, schedules, and deadlines
  • Support organization, planning, and study skills
  • Teach executive functioning strategies
  • Help students build independence and accountability
  • Provide academic support in reading, writing, and general coursework when needed
  • Communicate professionally with families and team members
  • Build supportive and encouraging relationships with students

We Are Especially Interested In Candidates With:

  • Special Education background
  • Executive functioning coaching experience
  • Experience supporting students with ADHD or learning differences
  • Middle or high school teaching experience
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Online teaching or tutoring experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
  • Prior teaching, tutoring, coaching, or intervention experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable teaching and coaching online using Zoom and digital tools
  • Reliable, professional, and responsive
  • Comfortable working with struggling learners

Preferred Qualifications

  • Special Education certification or background
  • Executive functioning or study skills coaching experience
  • Experience supporting students with ADHD, dyslexia, or learning differences
  • Reading intervention or writing support experience
  • Online tutoring experience

Availability Requirements

  • Must be available at least 4 consistent weekday after-school hours between 3 PM–8 PM CST
  • Minimum availability of 15–20 hours per week
  • Consistent weekly schedule required
  • Long-term availability strongly preferred
  • Weekend availability is a plus

Technology Requirements

  • Reliable high-speed internet
  • Quiet teaching environment
  • Webcam and microphone
  • Comfortable using Zoom, Google Docs, and online learning platforms
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic technology issues independently

This Position May NOT Be a Good Fit If You:

  • Are only looking for temporary or summer work
  • Prefer in-person instruction only
  • Have limited weekday after-school availability
  • Are uncomfortable supporting struggling learners
  • Are not confident teaching virtually

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
