Online K-8 Generalist (State-Credentialed)

Position Overview:
We are seeking passionate and dedicated certified teachers to join our team as K-8 Online Generalist Tutors. This flexible, part-time role is ideal for educators who are enthusiastic about providing personalized, one-on-one or small group instruction to students in an online environment. Tutors will help students strengthen their understanding of core subjects, excel academically, and build confidence in their abilities. Sessions will primarily be conducted after school hours and on weekends, but opportunities are available for daytime sessions with non-traditional students, such as homeschool learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instructional Support: Deliver engaging, tailored tutoring sessions in your certified subject(s) to K-8 students via an online platform.
  • Student-Centered Approach: Assess individual student needs, set achievable learning goals, and provide customized lesson plans to address academic challenges.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track student progress, provide regular feedback to students and parents, and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
  • Interactive Engagement: Use diverse online tools and resources to create an interactive and supportive learning environment.
  • Flexibility: Accommodate various schedules, including evenings, weekends, and daytime hours for homeschool or other non-traditional students. Need to work in multiple time zones.

Requirements:

  • Resides in the U.S.
  • A valid teaching certification in the subject(s) you will tutor.
  • Proven experience with ONLINE teaching or tutoring in a K-8 setting.
  • Pacific Time AM & PM Availability (based on student needs) Optional Hours: Weekends and daytime sessions available for non-traditional students (e.g., homeschool students).
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum standards, instructional strategies, and online teaching tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to different learning styles.
  • Access to reliable high-speed internet, a computer, and a quiet, professional space for conducting online sessions.
  • Ability to develop highly effective lesson plans.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with diverse student populations, including homeschool students or students with special learning needs.
  • Familiarity with online tutoring platforms and digital teaching resources.
  • A background in creating individualized educational plans (IEPs) or differentiated instruction.
  • English as a Second Language certification/experience.

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate ($25-35/hr) based on experience and subject specialization.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
