Online Teacher (K-2)

Sonoran Virtual Academy is seeking a passionate and engaging Full-Time Online K-2 Teacher to join our growing virtual learning program. Our school provides a rigorous, STEM-focused education for students in grades K-8 through live online instruction, strong family partnerships, and meaningful student engagement.

This position is ideal for educators who are experienced in elementary education, comfortable using technology to teach in a live virtual classroom, and excited to create a positive and engaging virtual classroom environment for young learners.

Position Responsibilities

• Teach live online classes daily for Kindergarten through 2nd grade students using Google Meet, and live SEI courses for English Learners
• Deliver engaging synchronous and asynchronous instruction in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies
• Post assignments and learning materials through Google Classroom and other online platforms
• Grade assignments and maintain accurate records in Infinite Campus
• Hold tutoring and intervention sessions for students as needed
• Differentiate instruction to meet student learning needs
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, attendance, and academic performance
• Collaborate with teaching teams and administration to support student achievement
• Participate in professional development sessions
• Participate actively in school initiatives and student engagement activities

QualificationsRequired

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum of one year of synchronous online teaching experience
• Ability to obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card prior to employment
• Strong technology and communication skills
• Reliable internet connection and professional home workspace without interruptions

Preferred

• Elementary teaching experience in K-2
• Experience with Google Classroom, Infinite Campus, Google Meet, or similar platforms
• Arizona teaching certification
• Dyslexia training
• Reading Specialist endorsement
