Onsite Carrier Coordinator
Position Summary
The Onsite Carrier Coordinator works directly under the supervision of the Onsite Operations Manager and serves as Freedom Trans USA’s professional onsite representative at the USPS facility. This position plays a critical role in supporting daily transportation operations, maintaining communication between USPS personnel and Freedom Trans USA headquarters, ensuring equipment readiness, and assisting with overall site execution.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operational Support
- Support the Onsite Operations Manager in the execution of daily transportation, yard operations and customer service.
- Conduct routine yard checks and equipment audits to ensure operational readiness.
- Verify trailer inventory, locations, and status throughout the facility.
- Assist in identifying and escalating service issues, equipment concerns, and operational risks.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of onsite activities.
Equipment Inspections
- Perform detailed trailer and equipment inspections utilizing company-approved checklists.
- Identify safety defects, maintenance concerns, or roadworthiness issues and report findings immediately.
- Document equipment conditions through photographs and written reports as required.
- Ensure damaged or out-of-service equipment is properly identified and communicated to management.
Driver & Carrier Support
- Check in Freedom Trans USA drivers and verify compliance with facility requirements.
- Assist drivers with locating equipment, trailer assignments, and operational instructions.
- Monitor adherence to site policies, safety requirements, and USPS procedures.
- Provide timely updates regarding delays, equipment availability, or operational concerns.
Communication & Customer Service
- Respond professionally to email communications and provide updates to USPS personnel when directed.
- Maintain clear, concise, and professional communication with USPS staff, Freedom Trans USA employees, carriers, and drivers.
- Communicate all significant onsite activities, concerns, and exceptions to headquarters and the Onsite Operations Manager.
- Represent Freedom Trans USA professionally at all times.
Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Promote a strong safety culture through active observation and reporting.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, accidents, near misses, or policy violations.
- Follow the philosophy of “See Something, Say Something.”
- Provide feedback and recommendations for process improvements that increase safety, efficiency, or service performance.
- Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and operational reviews as required.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of logistics, transportation, warehouse, or operations experience preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working in a fast-paced operational environment is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with tablets and mobile devices.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and basic Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while following established procedures.
- Demonstrated professionalism and customer service skills.
- Ability to identify potential issues and proactively communicate solutions.
- Strong work ethic and desire to build a long-term career within the logistics industry.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
- Frequent walking throughout large transportation and distribution facilities.
- Ability to walk long distances during inspections and operational checks.
- Ability to climb trailer steps and safely enter/exit equipment when required.
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work in outdoor and non-climate-controlled environments.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
- Ability to safely perform duties around moving vehicles, trailers, and industrial equipment.
Schedules Available:
- Monday-Thru / Friday -2359-0900
- Thursday- Sunday. 2359-0900
Pay: $19.57 - $25.00 per hour
