Key Responsibilities:

Key Result Areas (KRA) – OP Pharmacy Manager

1. Drive OP Pharmacy Operations & Sales

• Ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day functioning of the OP Pharmacy.
• Drive revenue growth through effective planning, stock availability, and customer service.
• Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
• Monitor daily sales performance and implement corrective actions when required.

2. Sales Growth & Business Development

• Develop and implement strategies to increase OP pharmacy sales.
• Coordinate with consultants and departments to improve prescription conversions.
• Monitor prescription trends and promote high-demand and fast-moving products.
• Minimize lost sales due to stock-outs.

3. Formulary Design & Management

• Design and maintain an optimized pharmacy formulary aligned with hospital policies.
• Ensure availability of essential, high-moving, and critical medications.
• Review formulary periodically based on usage patterns and doctor preferences.
• Coordinate with procurement for cost-effective purchasing.

4. 100% Operational Efficiency of OP Pharmacy

• Ensure accurate dispensing with zero medication errors.
• Maintain compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Implement SOPs and monitor adherence to quality standards.
• Optimize manpower utilization and workflow processes.

5. Patient Waiting Time Management

• Monitor and reduce patient waiting time at the pharmacy counter.
• Ensure adequate staffing during peak hours.
• Implement queue management and workflow improvements.
• Maintain high patient satisfaction scores.

6. Inventory & Cost Control

• Maintain optimal inventory levels and reduce expiry losses.
• Monitor stock turnover ratio.
• Conduct regular audits and ensure proper documentation.
• Control pilferage and shrinkage.

7. Team Management & Development

• Lead, train, and supervise pharmacy staff.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
• Ensure high levels of discipline and professionalism within the team.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: M. Pharm (Master of Pharmacy) – Mandatory
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in hospital pharmacy (outpatient focus preferred)
• Licensing: Must hold a valid Pharmacy Council registration

Key Skills:

• Strong knowledge of pharmacology and drug interactions
• Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing
• Good communication and patient interaction skills
• Familiarity with pharmacy billing systems and software
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment
