Operating Partner

Job Description: Operating Partner
Company: Solen Software Group
Location: Remote / Salt Lake City, US / Toronto, CA / Lisbon, PT
Focus: Portfolio Performance, The Solen Playbook, & Value Creation

About Solen Software Group

Solen Software Group is an evergreen holding company that acquires and operates established, high-potential software businesses across a wide range of vertical markets. Our portfolio includes companies in Human Resource Technology, Fleet Telematics, Asset Management, E-Health, Document Management, and other innovative B2B software categories.

Backed by experienced advisors and investors who have built and scaled software companies from 10M to 100M in ARR, Solen is committed to long-term, sustainable growth. We empower each business in our group to strengthen its position as a leader within its niche.

About the role

The Operating Partner is the bridge between acquisition and long-term compounding. Unlike the EIR (who runs a single company), the Operating Partner oversees a cluster of portfolio companies (OpCos).

Your mission is to act as a 'Force Multiplier' for our OpCo CEOs. You will ensure the Solen Playbook—our proprietary system for sales, marketing, and digital transformation—is implemented with precision. You are part coach, part strategist, and part 'fixer.'

Core Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Stewardship: Oversee the operational health of 3–5 portfolio companies. You are responsible for ensuring each OpCo hits its 'Rocks' (quarterly goals) and maintains Solen's high standards for customer retention, REVENUE and EBITDA growth.
  • The Solen Playbook Execution: Lead the implementation of our EOS-style operating rhythms (L10s, Scorecards, and Annual Planning). You will drive the adoption of 'Solen Sales Masterminds' and modern digital marketing stacks across the portfolio.
  • CEO Coaching & Elevation: Act as a high-level mentor to OpCo CEOs and GMs. You will help them navigate complex leadership challenges, 'figure out' operational bottlenecks, and remove barriers to their team's mastery.
  • Post-Acquisition Integration: Lead the 'First 100 Days' for new acquisitions. You will terraform the newly acquired business, aligning its culture, reporting, and systems with the Solen infrastructure.
  • Cross-Portfolio Synergy: Identify 'best practices' in one company and scale them across the entire holding company. You are the connective tissue that ensures we are 'benchmarking to best.'
  • Business Value Creation: Identify and implement levers to drive long-term value creation across portfolio companies. Partnering with our CEOs and GMs, you will drive enduring REVENUE and EBITDA growth, while maintaining disciplined capital allocation, wise reinvestment of profits, and continuous operational improvement to maximize return on investments.

Our ideal candidate

  • The 'General Manager' Mindset: You have likely been a CEO, COO, or VP of Ops in a B2B SaaS environment. You have 'seen the movie before' and know what 'good' looks like at scale.
  • Systems Obsessed: You don't just solve problems; you build systems so the problem never returns. You believe in the power of structured operating rhythms (EOS, Scaling Up, etc.).
  • High Candor: You are comfortable giving and receiving 'unfiltered feedback.' You don't sugarcoat operational red flags; you address them with speed and a 'Learn-it-all' attitude.
  • Figure-it-out-iveness: You thrive in ambiguity. When an OpCo hits a wall, you dive into the trenches to help the team find a way over, under, or through it.
  • Data-Driven: You live in the Scorecards. You understand SaaS metrics (LTV, CAC, Net Retention, Magic Number) as a language, not just as numbers on a page.

Why Join Us?

  • Long-Term Horizon: No 'exit' pressure. You are building companies that will endure for 20+ years.
  • High Impact: You aren't just an advisor; you have real skin in the game and the authority to drive meaningful change across multiple businesses.
  • Wealth Creation: Competitive salary, performance bonuses tied to portfolio growth, and long-term incentive plans (LTIP) that align with the evergreen nature of the fund.

We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
