Mental Health Cooperative, Inc. (MHC) was formed in 1993 to serve individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Since then, we have expanded our services to children and adolescents with severe emotional disorders across Middle and East Tennessee.
Our sole purpose is to support and treat those challenged with serious mental illness and poverty. Although based out of Nashville, we serve several communities across middle and East Tennessee with satellite offices in Antioch, Gallatin, Dickson, Columbia, Cleveland, Murfreesboro, Clarksville, Cookeville, Chattanooga, and Memphis.

Pos i tion Summ a r y : The Operational Supervisor will work to establish long-term relationships with school districts and principals which will ease the relationship strain on the SBBHL, will assist with trust in services being provided, and will help in the Needs Assessment and School Climate components of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). This position will also spend time recruiting and retaining high quality staff and assisting SBBHL Program Director with administrative tasks and evaluations.
Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm
Pos i tion R e s ponsibil i t i e s :
The Operational Supervisor shall work with the SBBHL program to ensure each program’s continuing compliance with the SBBHL program and contract obligations.
Represents the SBBHL program to new and prospective districts and/or schools and to promote cooperation and coordination between districts, schools, families, and community mental health service providers and works in conjunction with the SBBHL TA.
Assists in hiring, including interviewing prospective employees as requested and in conjunction with the hiring team and partnering schools.
Identifying and recommending to the hiring team appropriate resources and materials to be used in the implementation of the program.
Assess the performance of each liaison through interviews of principals and teachers, observations of activities, review of records, and conduction of satisfaction surveys as evidenced by at least (1) site visit at each partnering school where a SBBHL is providing services.
Provides feedback and recommendations to hiring agency and the State regarding each SBBHL(s) performance, budget concerns, and computer and database maintenance.
Develops working relationships with each assigned school’s Coordinated School Health representative and each area’s TN Dept of Homeland Security and Safety, Homeland Security agent as evidenced by monthly communication to assess the needs and safety of each partnering school.
Ensure ongoing collaboration among the agency's program manager, school leadership, and school district leadership for the purpose of identification of operational needs and opportunities (e.g. meetings with new hire liaisons).
Assists in training and supporting staff in curriculum development and implementation, in development and implementation of appropriate and approved climate enhancement activities, guidelines and policies of program, MTSS framework, identification of appropriate resources, and in the use of the REDCap developed for the SBBHL programs to ensure accuracy and consistency of data reported.
Coordinates and assists the State in regular monitoring of the program and then works closely with each CMHO and each SBBHL to correct deficiencies.
Facilitates at least 1x monthly meetings with agency SBBHLs individually or more as warranted.
Provide administrative and leadership support to SBBHL Program Director Assist w/ running monthly meetings w/ all SBBHL within their assigned county Meet with Care Management teams to build engagement and understanding of the SBBHL program.
Provide new employee training and mentoring to new School Based Behavioral Health Liaisons. Provide documentation review to ensure all documentation standards are followed and support medical necessity.
Be available for back up whenever Program Manager is unavailable.

A master’s degree in a social or behavioral science or other related acceptable field with one to three years’ experience or training in social services.
Experience working with children/youth and families with significant behavioral health needs.
Ability to provide a strength-based, client-centered approach to service delivery.
