Operations Analyst

The Institutional Banking Operations Analyst is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operational functions within the Institutional Banking group. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of operational activities, particularly within a new account onboarding, exception processing, reconciliations and other operational areas. The analyst will also support customer onboarding, due diligence, and broader banking operations to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following.

• Investigate and resolve exceptions, discrepancies, and incidents and customer inquiries.
• Maintain daily operational reporting, including transaction volumes, limits, and settlement activity.
• Coordinate with fintech partners and internal stakeholders to support payment flows and settlement processes.
• Managing prefunding, reserve accounts, and settlement reconciliation processes
• Oversee end-to-end processes to effectively set up new institutional accounts, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with reviewing and maintaining existing accounts, including monitoring for accuracy, documentation, and risk controls.
• Partner with management on the day-to-day oversight of complex accounts, resolving escalations, and supporting client needs with a high level of service.
• Assist developing procedures, best practices and technology implementations.
• Support other daily activities within the division such as customer onboarding, due diligence activities, data reporting, activity monitoring, project support, and other duties as assigned

Compliance & Risk Management:

• Ensure adherence to BSA/AML requirements, and internal compliance policies.
• Identify and escalate suspicious or unusual activity in accordance with bank procedures.
• Support audits, exams, and internal reviews by providing documentation and process explanations.
• Assist in the development and enhancement of operational controls and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job does not have managerial responsibilities.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in banking operations, with exposure to new account onboarding and daily exception item handling
• Knowledge of ACH lifecycle (origination, settlement, returns, and exceptions).
• Familiarity with banking regulations including BSA/AML and OFAC requirements.

PREFERRED / PLUS QUALIFIACATIONS

• Experience in a community bank environment.
• NACHA Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification.
• Knowledge of payment processors, middleware providers, or sponsor bank models.
• Exposure to card networks and settlement processes.
