Operations and Customer Support Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Operations & Customer Support Manager to join our team at a specialty industrial chemical distributor. This position is based in a combined office and warehouse environment, overseeing customer support, logistics coordination, order processing, and purchasing. The role ensures smooth end-to-end operations, from order intake to delivery, while maintaining exceptional customer experience and compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Support: Respond to inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain SLAs; provide timely updates on order status and delivery schedules
• Order Processing: Manage order entry and validation; coordinate with warehouse and carriers for accurate fulfillment
• Logistics & Inventory: Plan and monitor shipments (FTL/LTL/FCL); maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts
• Purchasing & Vendor Management: execute purchase orders; negotiate terms to optimize cost, lead time, and quality
• Warehouse Support: Collaborate with warehouse teams during peak periods and shorthanded situations; Preferred: Willingness to operate a forklift (training/certification provided)

Qualifications

• Proven experience in operations, logistics, purchasing, or customer support
• Strong organizational and communication skills with emphasis in self-motivation
• Familiarity with ERP/WMS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one
• Knowledge of handling specialty industrial chemicals and related safety protocols is a plus
