Position Overview
The Canine Care Operations Manager is the heartbeat of our daily operations—ensuring our team is supported, clients receive timely communication, and schedules run smoothly. This role balances hands-on operational management with proactive problem-solving to ensure exceptional client and pet experiences every day.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Communication & Support
- Respond promptly to team member inquiries via Slack, text, or phone.
- Monitor team communication threads and ensure information is clear and timely.
- Address and resolve field challenges (e.g., locked doors, scared dogs, vehicle issues).
- Capture and communicate training moments for staff growth.
Schedule & Appointment Management
- Monitor the progression of daily schedules in real time.
- Approve appointment requests, cancellations, and changes.
- Adjust schedules as needed for call-outs, emergencies, or client requests.
- Take overflow walks when necessary to maintain service standards.
Client Communication & Care
- Address client questions, concerns, and service changes quickly.
- Send scripts or prepared responses for common questions.
- Assist clients with bookings, package changes, and appointment adjustments.
- Update client accounts, invoices, and package tracking in scheduling software.
Quality Assurance
- Review appointment notes for accuracy and professionalism.
- Ensure enrichment, safety, and care standards are met during every visit.
- Fill out the End of Day report and quality check spreadsheet daily.
Leadership & Coordination
- Monitor field operations to ensure staff start routes on time and stay on track.
- Provide hands-on leadership during high-demand times or urgent situations.
- Collaborate with the team on special projects.
Qualifications
- 2+ years in pet care operations, hospitality, or a customer service leadership role.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with scheduling and client management software (Pet Pocketbook or similar).
- Comfortable stepping into the field for dog walks when needed.
Compensation & Benefits

- Part-Time ( 20 hours) foresee increase to up to 32 hours by the end of the year. Must be available Monday - Friday 10:00 am until 3:00 pm
