Operations Dispatch Manager

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Operations Dispatch Manager to lead our transportation coordination efforts. In this vital role, you will oversee dispatch operations, ensuring the efficient movement of freight and supplies across multiple locations. You will utilize advanced transportation management systems, GPS technology, and GIS tools to optimize routes, monitor fleet performance, and maintain seamless communication with drivers, carriers, and internal teams. Your proactive approach will drive operational excellence, enhance supply chain efficiency, and support the company’s commitment to reliable logistics service.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily dispatch activities for freight movement, utilizing transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine to plan routes and schedules effectively.
• Monitor fleet operations in real-time using GPS and GIS tools to ensure timely deliveries and address any disruptions promptly.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, carriers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems and other communication channels to provide instructions and updates.
• Maintain accurate data entry for shipments, tracking information, and dispatch logs using AS400 systems and other relevant software platforms.
• Collaborate with supply chain teams to optimize transportation planning, freight allocation, shipping & receiving processes, and fleet management strategies.
• Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies or delays; implement process improvements to enhance overall logistics performance.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, phone etiquette standards, and company policies during all dispatching activities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in transportation management or logistics coordination with strong analysis skills.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of GIS, GPS tracking technology, freight forwarding, 3PL (third-party logistics), shipping & receiving procedures, and fleet management practices.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally and efficiently.
• Strong typing skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry and record keeping.
• Ability to analyze complex logistical data to make informed decisions that improve dispatch efficiency.
• Experience working with transportation planning tools, supply chain processes, and logistics software platforms like AS400 or Oracle Transportation Management is preferred.
