A Little Bit About the Role
At UZURV, we are dedicated to ensuring the safety and compliance of our transportation services. We are seeking a Driver Safety and Claims Coordinator with a focus on Federal Transit Administration (FTA) compliance to oversee driver safety, manage auto insurance claims, and ensure adherence to FTA regulations within our paratransit operations. This role is pivotal in maintaining the highest standards of safety and reliability for our riders and drivers.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
Driver Safety Management
- Safety Monitoring: Utilize performance reports, telematics, and safety audits to continuously monitor driver behavior, ensuring compliance with company and FTA safety standards.
- Safety Training: Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs on safe driving practices, accident prevention, emergency response, and FTA safety standards.
- Incident Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations into accidents and safety incidents, gathering necessary documentation and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Safety Audits: Regularly audit vehicles to ensure compliance with FTA safety standards, including accessibility features, maintenance schedules, and proper use of safety equipment.
Auto Insurance Claims Management
- Claims Reporting: Act as the primary contact for all auto insurance claims involving company vehicles, ensuring accurate and timely reporting and documentation.
- Investigation of Claims: Collaborate with insurance companies, transit agency partners, drivers, and internal teams to investigate accidents, assess liability, and compile necessary documentation.
- Claims Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with insurance policy and FTA requirements.
- Claims Liaison: Serve as the intermediary between the company, insurance providers, and legal teams to ensure efficient claims processing.
Regulatory Compliance – FTA Requirements
- FTA Regulations: Ensure all paratransit operations comply with FTA regulations, particularly 49 CFR Part 655 and 49 CFR Part 40, overseeing drug and alcohol testing programs.
- FTA Safety Standards: Oversee compliance with FTA safety standards, including vehicle inspections, maintenance schedules, and safety protocols.
- Accident Reporting: Ensure timely reporting of accidents to the FTA and relevant authorities, adhering to established procedures.
- Compliance Audits: Conduct regular internal audits to verify FTA compliance and prepare for external evaluations, addressing any identified gaps.
Driver Performance Monitoring
- Performance Assessments: Regularly evaluate driver performance using monitoring systems, incident reports, and feedback, providing constructive feedback to promote safety and compliance.
- Corrective Actions: Address performance issues by developing action plans, which may include retraining or additional monitoring.
- Safety Alerts: Generate and distribute reports and alerts to highlight performance trends or concerns, ensuring prompt attention to safety risks.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration
What You’ll Need to Have to Succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Business, Risk Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in paratransit or transportation safety management, focusing on FTA regulations and auto insurance claims processes.
- Prior claims management or adjusting experience strongly preferred, but current licenses not required
- Proficiency in using fleet management and claims software is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of FTA regulations, including drug and alcohol testing, vehicle accessibility, and safety protocols for paratransit operations.
- Strong understanding of FTA safety regulations, particularly 49 CFR Part 655 and 49 CFR Part 40.
- Proven experience in managing auto insurance claims, including investigations and negotiations.
- Meticulous attention to detail in upholding safety standards and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for investigating incidents and assessing risks.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including fleet management, client services, HR, and risk management.
- Strong communication skills to convey safety expectations, training requirements, and claims statuses to various stakeholders.
