About the Role

The Operations Manager supports the I WILL GRADUATE Youth Development Program, overseeing daily operational functions across multiple NYC school sites. This role ensures youth programs meet organizational goals, uphold DOE standards, and deliver high-quality enrichment by overseeing program operations, special events, and arts-in-education classes (music, art, drama, dance, etc.).

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee day-to-day operations for in-school and after-school Youth Development Program sites.
  • Supervise and support instructors and site staff; ensure adherence to program policies and DOE standards.
  • Coordinate program logistics, daily schedules, site coverage, attendance tracking, and required documentation.
  • Support the development and implementation of youth programs and arts-in-education classes.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with principals, teachers, parent coordinators, and school partners.
  • Assist with student recruitment through outreach, communication, information sessions, and follow-up.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and implement effective, timely solutions across assigned sites.
  • Ensure accurate records, compliance documentation, and reporting requirements are consistently met.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Education, Youth Development, or related field preferred).
  • 3–4 years of experience in youth development, program operations, or supervisory youth work.
  • Experience supervising groups and leading teams in youth programming settings.
  • Experience developing and implementing youth programs.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a diverse range of individuals both in person and over the phone, applying tact and discretion as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must successfully complete a New York City Department of Education (DOE) background check.

Additional Hiring Requirement

As part of the hiring process, final candidates are required to complete a 1–3 day onsite test period, during which they will work in-office and complete assigned operational tasks. Compensation for the test period will be provided at the equivalent hourly rate of $33.65 per hour.
