Position Summary
The Operations Manager is a senior management poistion and provides day-to-day operational leadership & management for Meltech Corp., Inc., supporting executive management in overseeing program & project execution and internal operations. While the COO retains overall responsibility, this role assumes primary responsibility for operational coordination, project oversight, and performance management across the organization ensuring efficiency, safety, quality, and financial performance.
The Operations Manager will oversee project execution, staffing coordination, operational systems, and directly manage select projects as assigned to ensure efficiency, compliance, and profitability.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Provide leadership and direction for daily company operations.
- Support executive management in executing strategic and operational goals.
- Ensure operational systems, reporting structures, and performance standards are consistently applied.
- Monitor project workflows and address operational issues proactively.
- Serve as operational lead for internal coordination across departments.
Project Oversight & Management
- Directly manage assigned construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
- Provide guidance and oversight to Project Managers on scheduling, budgeting, and contract execution.
- Review project schedules, cost tracking, change orders, and subcontractor performance.
- Ensure compliance with federal contracting requirements (FAR, agency standards, SCA/DBA as applicable).
- Support proposal review and preconstruction planning efforts as needed.
Financial & Contract Oversight
- Work in coordination with Accounting and the CFO to monitor project financial performance and cost controls.
- Ensure timely documentation to support invoicing and contract compliance.
- Oversee contract administration processes, including change orders and subcontractor documentation.
- Assist in preparing for audits and agency reviews in partnership with Accounting and HR.
Team Leadership & Development
- Assist with hiring, mentoring, and evaluating project and operational staff.
- Support workforce planning and project staffing allocations.
- Promote accountability, communication, and operational consistency.
Client & Stakeholder Relations
- Participate in meetings with clients and agency representatives.
- Support resolution of project issues in coordination with executive leadership.
- Contribute to maintaining strong performance evaluations and client satisfaction.
Risk & Compliance
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality control, and regulatory standards.
- Drive continuous improvement of operational processes.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
- 8–10+ years of construction management experience, preferably within federal contracting.
- Experience overseeing multiple programs & projects and supervising program & project teams.
- Strong understanding of federal contracting and compliance requirements.
Skills
Strong leadership, decision-making, communication, and financial management skills are essential. Knowledge of construction operations, project management software, and procurement strategies is highly valued
CONUS & OCONUS Experience, and active security clearance at Secret or above a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $125,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
