Operations Manager

Job Summary
Kent Machine is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day execution of our precision manufacturing and inspection operations. This person owns the P&L of daily operations, from the moment a request for quote comes in to the moment the product ships out the door. They lead people, manage workflow, maintain quality standards, and deliver on time. The owner sets the vision; this person executes it.

Core Responsibilities

The Operations Manager leads the following functions:

• Estimating - receive RFQ's, turnaround quotes in timely fashion
• Project Management - scheduling work orders, setting timelines, and resolving bottlenecks before they become problems.
• Production Management - manage machinists and production staff, monitor throughput and efficiency, identify capacity constraints and proactively address them
• Inspection/Calibration Lab - oversee Kent's ISO 17025 accredited lab, ensure ISO standards are held, maintain efficient throughput without compromising quality
• Team Leadership - Hire, develop and hold accountable team members across operations, establish clear expectations for performance and communication, foster a culture of discipline, quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Required

• Experience in manufacturing operations or production leadership
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Experience coordinating multiple departments or workflows
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
• Experience with production scheduling or ERP systems
• Strong communication and leadership abilities

Preferred

• Experience in precision machining or manufacturing environments
• Familiarity with quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 17025, etc.)
• Background in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
