The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the Museum’s audio-visual systems in the theater and exhibition spaces in collaboration with departments across the Museum. The position also manages the physical and logistical preparations for events, programs, rentals, and administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain equipment in the theater spaces, A/V, lights, and sounds Protek systems; as well as assisting programs and rentals with A/V setup and production
  • Oversee A/V integration with exhibitions in collaboration with Collections & Exhibitions Department, IT, and related consultants
  • Directly supervise the Operations Coordinator in matters regarding building systems and event support, including deliveries, physical preparation of the Museum spaces, cleanup, and timely updates of the Museum’s Building Calendar
  • Lead the pre- and post-internal event set-up process with all relevant departments to review the logistical planning of programs and events
  • Oversee operations inventory and equipment for everyday operational use, and make recommendations on upgrades as needed
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of tables, chairs, equipment, etc.
  • Serves as a point of contact for Museum partners
  • Work closely with the Director of Rentals Services
  • Record keeping and maintenance scheduling to ensure the Museum’s premises is clean and operating efficiently
  • Other projects as needed

Requirements:

  • At least three years of experience in theatrical production or operation of public museum or performance spaces
  • Proven knowledge of a/v and technical systems including lighting, soundboards, etc.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and management experience preferred
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel)
  • Must be available to work weekends and evenings and be open to working a flexible schedule to support public programs and special events.

Position Details:

  • Reports to Associate Director, Operations
  • Annual Salary: $66,300 with generous benefits
  • Full-time, 40 hours a week with Sunday – Thursday schedule
