Operations manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Operations Manager to lead our team and oversee daily business functions across our retail locations. This pivotal role involves managing store operations, optimizing sales performance, supervising staff, and ensuring exceptional customer service. Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and sales activities
• Lead and motivate team members through effective training, coaching, and employee orientation programs
• Manage staffing schedules, conduct interviewing processes, and participate in recruiting efforts to build a high-performing team
• Supervise cash handling, cashiering, and POS (Point of Sale) systems to ensure accuracy and security
• Implement pricing strategies, manage purchasing decisions, and control inventory levels for optimal stock availability
• Monitor sales performance metrics, develop sales management plans, and execute marketing initiatives to boost retail sales
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety standards, and store procedures while maintaining excellent customer service standards

Experience

• Proven management experience in retail or similar customer-focused environments with supervisory responsibilities
• Strong background in retail math, budgeting, bookkeeping, and payroll processing
• Demonstrated skills in negotiation, employee training & development, and team management
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable for effective communication with diverse customer bases
• Experience with inventory control systems, POS technology, merchandising, and stock management is essential
• Prior assistant manager or supervisory experience in grocery stores or retail outlets is preferred
• Excellent organizational skills combined with effective time management and communication skills to lead a busy store environment
