Job Overview:
The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations, managing a team of cleaning technicians, and ensuring adherence to sterile and non-sterile pharmacy cleanroom standards. This role blends operational leadership, process improvement, customer service, and staff coordination. The Operations Manager will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, while optimizing operational efficiency and enhancing client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise, train and guide cleaning technicians to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency.
· Train team to complete proper hand hygiene and garbing procedures to enter dedicated compounding spaces.
· Conduct initial and ongoing assessments for cleaning technicians, such as respirator fit tests, and gloved fingertip sampling per USP and company policies.
· Manage daily operations, including portal management, client engagement, and project execution.
· Learn and enforce all pharmacy cleanroom SOPs and maintain compliance with USP 795, USP 797, USP 800, State Boards of Pharmacy Regulations, and FDA regulations.
· Create and maintain technician schedules, ensure adequate staffing, and serve on-call to address coverage needs.
· Cover shifts as needed in the event of staff call-ins to maintain operational continuity.
· Follow Good Documentation practices on forms and logs.
· Streamline workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvements to optimize operations.
· Communicate effectively with internal team, direct reports, and client facility personnel.
· Serve as a resource for staff questions regarding operational procedures and company policies.
· Monitor key performance metrics and ensure operational goals are achieved.
· Provide guidance, coaching, and performance management to technicians, including addressing performance issues and making personnel decisions as needed.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives and foster a productive, high-performance work environment.
· Effectively mentor technicians and leads, while fostering high-performance, professional growth, and employee retention.
· Foster an organizational culture, defined by shared values, vision and dedication to purpose.
· Assist HR with onboarding and orientation of new employees, ensuring proper introduction to operational processes and safety standards.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
