Operations Manager - UAE Waste Management Experience

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager – Waste Management to lead and manage the day-to-day waste collection, fleet operations, compliance, and service delivery across Dubai. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of UAE experience in waste management operations with strong knowledge of Dubai Municipality regulations, environmental compliance, fleet oversight, and waste collection workflows.

This role involves managing field teams, optimizing routes, ensuring compliance with all authority requirements, and overseeing operational KPIs for waste collection services.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership

• Manage daily waste collection operations, ensuring efficient execution across all assigned routes and client sites.
• Supervise fleet operations including scheduling, route planning, GPS tracking, and vehicle utilization.
• Lead and manage waste collection drivers, helpers, supervisors, and field teams.
• Ensure timely and accurate waste pickups for municipal, commercial, industrial, and residential clients.

Regulatory Compliance & Approvals

• Ensure full compliance with Dubai Municipality Waste Management Department (DWM) regulations.
• Maintain company approvals for environmental and waste collection activities—renewals, audits, and inspections.
• Ensure vehicles comply with:
• RTA approvals & permits
• Waste Transport Permits
• Environmental Permit to Operate (EPO)
• Dubai Municipality Waste Transport Compliance Certificates

Fleet & Equipment Management

• Oversee routine and preventive maintenance of waste collection vehicles and equipment.
• Coordinate with workshops to minimize downtime and ensure fleet readiness.
• Monitor fuel usage, breakdown reports, GPS logs, and driver performance.

Client Management & Service Delivery

• Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring service delivery meets SLA standards.
• Resolve customer complaints, service delays, or operational challenges promptly.
• Prepare service reports, operational dashboards, and performance updates for management.

Health, Safety & Environmental Standards

• Ensure strict adherence to HSE regulations and safe work practices for field teams.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and field inspections regularly.
• Oversee the proper handling, transportation, and disposal of general, recyclable, and regulated waste in accordance with UAE standards.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare operational reports including fleet metrics, waste tonnage, route performance, and productivity reports.
• Maintain accurate records for DWM, RTA, and environmental authorities.
• Lead operational audits and compliance inspections.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 5–7 years of UAE experience in Waste Management operations (mandatory).
• Proven experience managing waste collection fleets, drivers, and field operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Waste Management, or related field (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Dubai Municipality Waste Management systems (e.g., DWM Portal, WMS, etc.).
• Experience working with both municipal contracts and private sector clients.

Licenses, Certifications & Approvals (Required/Preferred)

• Dubai Municipality Waste Management Approval (company and operational).
• Environmental Permit to Operate (EPO) – knowledge of compliance required.
• RTA Commercial Vehicle Approvals & Driver Licensing Requirements.
• Certifications in NEBOSH / IOSH / HSE (highly preferred).
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) and ISO 9001 standards.
• Familiarity with UAE Waste Transport Regulations and Hazardous/Non-hazardous waste classification.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED10,000.00 - AED14,000.00 per month
