Part-Time Operations & Quality Supervisor (Short-Term Rentals)
Solace Escapes | Where Details Make the Difference
Some people scroll past job ads. Others notice when a pillow is 2 inches off-center and feel something about it. If that’s you, keep reading.
At Solace Escapes, we treat operations like both an art and a system. Work should feel good, structure should be clear, and culture should be lighthearted. Our mission? To elevate your experience - whether you're a guest, a property owner, or the team member making it all happen.
We’re hiring an Entry-Level Operations Supervisor to help maintain and elevate our short-term rental portfolio. This is where field execution meets systems thinking. You’ll be the person who notices what others miss, fixes what others overlook, and keeps everything running smoother than it should.
If you’ve ever straightened a crooked frame in someone else’s house… this role makes that instinct useful.
What You’ll Do (a.k.a. Your Superpowers):
- Perform quality checks on STR turnovers and ensure every unit hits our gold-standard (rogue hairs, mystery smudges, suspicious vibes - handled)
- Spot and fix imperfections like a forensic cleaning detective (things that look clean but weren’t done to system don’t pass - if floors were mopped with the in unit mop instead of the Cuban T mop + shamwow setup, they’re getting redone properly… because “looks clean” and “is clean” are not the same and if that difference isn’t obvious at first glance, that’s exactly why this role exists)
- Take initiative on every shift, if something’s off, you fix it or get it fixed right then and there (no waiting, no “someone else will handle it”. That someone else is you.)
- Example: No toilet paper? You’re already on the way to the store
- Example: Broken toilet handle? You’re either fixing it or calling maintenance before it becomes a guest issue
- Manage and execute work orders before they turn into “how did this happen” moments
- Audit cleaner performance and coach where it counts and when it's needed (kindly, but with an eye for dust that borders on supernatural)
- Coordinate vendors, gather quotes, and meet onsite when needed (your phone will have VIP status)
- Track inventory and run supply missions proactively (you don’t discover problems-you prevent them)
- Complete guest recovery runs and save the day in real time (cape optional, effectiveness required)
- Assist with pool or amenity upkeep (keeping things swim-ready and guest-approved)
- Maintain operational systems (if it lives on a checklist or spreadsheet, it answers to you now)
- Handle light admin tasks: reports, vendor updates, internal coordination, and stepping in wherever needed
- Jump into emergency cleans or fixes to keep your field instincts sharp (and your standards sharper)
- Support multi unit turnover operations without breaking a sweat (or at least hiding it well)
- Assist with new unit setups: furnishing, building, stocking, and turning empty spaces into “wait, this is nice”)
- Act as the bridge between field operations and management - your updates prevent problems before they exist
- Be available on-call outside standard onsite hours for last-minute guest issues or cleaner emergencies (because problems don’t check the clock before showing up in this industry)
- Use any hidden talents you bring (tightening loose screws, catching invoice errors, fixing that one thing no one else noticed)
- Step in wherever needed because in this role, “not my job” isn’t really a thing
Heads up: this isn’t exhaustive. You’ll wear a lot of hats and occasionally wonder how you got so good at all of them.
The Reality of the Role:
- This is a hands-on role. Cleaning is part of quality control.
- No clean is perfect - your job is to find what’s off and correct it before it becomes a problem.
- Communication speed matters. This operation runs on real-time updates.
- Some days are light. Some days require stepping in fast. That variability is part of the system.
