Utz Environmental Services is a well-established commercial landscape contractor serving Central Texas. We specialize in landscape, irrigation, and hardscape construction and take pride in running organized, accountable, and high-performing crews.
We are seeking an experienced Operations Support Manager to oversee operational coordination for our construction division, including pre-construction planning, field operations, labor tracking, job-costing accuracy, and project closeout.
This role directly impacts schedule performance, cost control, and overall operational efficiency. It is a leadership-support position with real accountability.
Position Summary
The Operations Support Manager works closely with Ownership, Project Managers, Estimators, and Field Supervisors to ensure projects move efficiently from award to completion.
This position oversees operational systems, labor accuracy, pre-construction coordination, and compliance, while supporting the division's profitability and structure.
Strong working knowledge of Aspire software is required.
Core Responsibilities
Pre-Construction & Estimating Support
- Manage utility locates prior to mobilization
- Oversee permit tracking, submission, and approval processes
- Source and solicit material pricing from vendors and suppliers
- Monitor material lead times and communicate impacts to scheduling
- Assist the estimating team with subcontractor pre-qualification requirements
- Support proposal writing and document assembly
- Maintain vendor and subcontractor compliance records
Operations Oversight & Field Support
- Monitor GPS tracking and crew activity to ensure productivity and schedule adherence
- Identify scheduling variances or inefficiencies and coordinate solutions with field leadership
- Assist in maintaining production schedules
- Serve as a communication bridge between field supervisors and office leadership
Labor & Job Cost Accountability
- Review, verify, adjust, and approve employee timekeeping data
- Ensure labor hours are coded accurately to jobs and cost categories
- Identify discrepancies and resolve issues quickly
- Generate and review job cost reports within Aspire
- Support leadership in maintaining budget accuracy and labor forecasting
Project Administration & Financial Coordination
- Oversee job setup and maintenance within Aspire
- Track and manage change orders
- Assist with monthly billing and pay applications
- Maintain organized project documentation
- Ensure required compliance documentation is complete
Project Closeout Management
- Oversee assembly of warranties and closeout documentation
- Submit final lien waivers and compliance paperwork
- Confirm all permits and inspections are finalized
- Support final job cost reconciliation
- Maintain standardized closeout procedures
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in construction operations or project coordination
- Demonstrated proficiency in Aspire software (required)
- Experience overseeing timekeeping approval and labor allocation
- Strong understanding of job costing and budget tracking
- Experience with permitting and compliance processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple active projects in a fast-paced environment

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $62,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
