Operator Laborer I ~ Mowing Division
Job Summary
The Operator/Laborer I is responsible for maintaining lawns and landscaped areas through the safe and efficient operation of mowing and landscaping equipment. This role requires physical endurance, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while meeting quality and safety standards.
- Operate commercial mowing equipment such as zero turn mowers, push mowers, trimmers, and blowers
- Perform routine lawn maintenance including mowing, edging, trimming, and debris cleanup
- Follow assigned routes and job schedules in a timely and efficient manner
- Inspect equipment daily and perform basic maintenance (fueling, cleaning, blade checks)
- Follow all safety guidelines and equipment operating procedures
- Load, unload, and transport equipment to and from job sites
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company positively on job sites
- Assist with additional landscaping tasks as needed (mulching, leaf removal, etc.)
- One (1) to five (5) years of experience preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of construction processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and site plans
- Working in various weather conditions
- Ensure the work area is clean and safe
- Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of environmental regulations
- Ability to work in areas of uneven terrain
- Good communication skills
- Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance
Education Requirements
High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
Safety
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.
Travel
Travel to job sites is required as needed.
